This portfolio aims to impress potential employers by displaying a variety of software and hardware engineering projects, highlighting skills in tools like Raspberry Pi, Python, and AutoCAD.
About Me.
My name is Alejandro Stoehr Ito, and I'm currently a second-year Mechanical Engineering student minoring in mathematics and music performance, with a growing passion for hands-on design, fluid systems, and creative problem-solving.
I first began developing my engineering mindset through a Takeapart Project, where I disassembled an electric pencil sharpener to explore how each internal component contributed to its overall function. That experience introduced me to the fundamentals of reverse engineering and the engineering design process.
Since then, I’ve continued expanding my technical and collaborative experience through engineering clubs on campus. I’m a member of AeroNU, Northeastern’s aerospace team, where I work on the NULI Airframe Team: designing the rocket’s outer body structure using SolidWorks and OpenRocket, in coordination with the liquid propulsion subgroup. I’m also part of the Theme Park Engineering Club, where I’ve helped design and code custom “Husky Bands” using SolidWorks and Arduino, and am currently contributing to our Ride Engineering Competition project, where our team will design and build a small-scale roller coaster using NoLimits Simulation and SolidWorks.
I’m reaching proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Thonny (Python), and OpenRocket, and I’ll be learning MATLAB as I continue building my technical toolkit. My main interests lie in fluid mechanics and liquid propulsion systems, though I’m still exploring different areas within mechanical engineering to find where my passions lead.
Outside of engineering, I enjoy playing tennis, performing music on the trumpet, and spending time with my dogs. I’m motivated by curiosity and creativity, and I look forward to applying my growing engineering skills to new challenges that combine design, innovation, and impact.
